General Questions

  • Yes! Next question.

  • There is a very important distinction as to what this class is. No, I am not making fun of yoga. In fact, my yoga practice has completely changed my life over the past 15+ years, and I (as in Brian, not Swami Mosa) wouldn’t be who I am today without it. What I parody here is the bastardization of yoga. The influencer who spends a week at a retreat in Costa Rica and posts about her enlightenment. The yoga guru who develops a cult following and abuses his power with self-appointed god-like authority. Swami Mosa makes fun of everything that yoga isn’t, but all too often is.

  • I agree that there are plenty of “yoga” offerings that are at least worthy of an eye roll, and it’s probably easy to group this in with them. But Swami Mosa cuts deeper. It addresses these topics head on with humor and parody. No one has ever taken a Swami Mosa Yoga class and left feeling that I have offended yoga. However, if someone does believe that they have an authoritative say in what yoga is, and they can criticize how others practice or play, and they can cast judgement on a class that they’ve never experienced personally…. then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

  • Of course not. In fact, while sipping mimosas during class is part of the experience, you can substitute with any beverage of your choice. I can even provide N/A champagne for mimosas on request. As we will be partaking in movement (it is yoga, after all), I require participants to not be drunk for class. Show up sober! What you do with the rest of your day is up to you.

  • Show up with your drinks of choice in attire fit for movement and stretching. I’ll provide the mats, speakers, and soundtrack.

Sessions

  • I schedule a 10 minute call (more if you’re feeling chatty) for the week before class. At this time I’ll go over some specifics for class and get a vibe of the group. If you have any requests or inside jokes you’d like to send my way, I always do my best to work them into class.

  • Of course not. Lounge on your mat. Sip a mimosa. Poke fun at the rest of us. It’s your practice.

  • Sessions start at 1 hour, but the duration of your session will be entirely up to you

Payment & Bookings

  • Price varies based on size of class, time of year/week/day, and if a longer commute is required. Inquire for a quote. Comparably, however, Swami Mosa Yoga is one of the most reasonably priced activities in Tahoe.

  • At this time, I accept cash or electronic payment methods such as Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, etc. I collect a $100 down payment at booking, which is refundable up to 30 days before class, and I collect the remaining balance the week of class.
